03.5 MSP titanium
after a long 3 months, I finally got my new msp yesterday.
I thought this day would never come. I hope I'm lucky and
don't have as many problems as some. It's Titanium and
so sweet!!! I had good salesman, he even spent 30 minutes
to set up my radio, and told me I should really get a boost
gauge and turbo timer. He has a turbo rx-7 built right. I
questioned him about voiding my warranty and he said they
have to prove the parts I installed caused the damage but they
are easy to get along with. He even called me at work this morning to make sure I was happy with my purchase. So far
so good!!

LOL. I've never heard the term "upstate" referring to any other state than New York. Congratulations though. I'm glad you got a good dealer. I'm afraid to go back to any of the dealers I have dealt with here in NJ. All the salesmen are shady greaseballs with gold watches and chest hair hanging out. Hopefully the techs are not so shady.

upstate south carolina. actually I live in anderson. I guess
maybe because I am in a similar business I kinda know how it
all works and let them know up front. I just tell them what they
have to do to sell me the car. I had three diffrent dealers trying
to get the sell.

I've been hanging around here for months trying to decide
whether or not to get the msp. I test drove one in march
and fell in love with it. Then I kinda got spooked w/ all
the issues some had. I just couldn't wait any longer and could'nt
afford evo. I am well satisfied for now.

Sup dawg

Welcome the MazdaSpeed Protg is a unique and fun car and we here on this forum are a crazy and diverse bunch of people. I hope you get as much out this site as I have. This forum has definitely made my ownership experience many times better than it would have been otherwise. Great people, great advice and some nice inexpensive parts to bring the Zoom to an appropriate level. Instead of a sheep in wolfs clothing it can be made into a really tough sheep wearing a leather jacket or even a fox that can outrun the dreaded "Turdius Canineacus."
Seriously you can make the MSP run a world better (if you so choose) with some fairly easy mods and some smart (read that safe) tuning.
Turn to Joe for a nice MBC http://www.joepmbc.com/mazdaspeed.htm and to www.jegs.com for a good selection of boost gauges and pod mounts. There are some very nice custom mounts floating around the forum as well.

Well!!!!!!!! That's just great!!!

Someone else to piss and moan about their MAZDASPEED.

.......Mommy; I got beat by an EVO today,,,,or an SRT-4. It hesitates,,,,,,,it's not what I thought it would be. How can I get it to 500HP?? MOMMY!!!!!!!!! What the ****??!!! (chair)

Ha!! I'm kidding. You might be one out of five, that really digs the car. I know; I do mine!

I bought this car just to have fun driving to work everyday. I own a powersports dealership ( mtc's, atv's, etc.) and know how to turn a wrench. I have been racing motocross, karts, legends cars, and late model stock cars for years and know a thing or two
about tuning and moding. I don't race on the street b/c I have
a family to feed and don't feel like losing my license when I race
for real on tracks every weekend. I have some plans for the msp
but nothing too wild. I just want to have fun with it.

Legends Cars? Do you know about the Diasio 962 Track Car? www.putnampark.com?

I'm not familiar with that. Kinda looks like a bigger version
of 600 racings bandelero cars. They are alot smaller (designed
for kids) though w/ kart engines. The legends cars have a FJ1200
yamaha sportbike motor. We can't do too much b/c of rulebook
but do pistons, rods, headwork, carbwork. They are quick and fun
but tear up too easily. Nice car , not many roadcourses
around here though and I'm tired of traveling.

My cousin manages Putnam Park for Richard Diasio. The D962 is very quick, apparently. It has the 1100cc Yamaha engine (6 speed sequential gearbox). About $32,000, I think.

Speaking of Larry (my cousin), and Diasio; a few weeks ago, Diasio brought his F50 over to the track, and let Larry drive it. He hit 140mph on the straight. Nice! A Champ Car hits about 180+ there at Putnam Park on the straightaway.

gonna hijack for a minute-
hey you all that live in SC.
anderson, and what not
If you all have charter pipeline, whats your thoughts on it as an ISP?
I work in tech support for em... so if you need anything, PM me and i can try to help you.

On topic- congrats on the purchase, i should be bringing mine home saturday!

Excellent! I see you bought the car! John is a pretty good guy, I've talked a lot with him about RX7's(I own a '88 TII).

Anyway, which shop do you own? I'm back and fourth between Clemson/Anderson and Greenville a lot. Wouldn't be interested in helping our club out a little? Sorry, CSCC is a college club and we get just enough to keep our club car running, nevermind buy tires every other race.

Interested in a meetup sometime? We're having an auto-x on July 19th and would like to get a BUNCH of MSP guys out there, maybe just for a meet...not nessarily to race. You can race too!($5 for the day, free fun runs...over the summer only)

Send me an email or PM...or just reply to this thread. BTW-My email address is: N1XRR-MM@charter.net.
