2002 Mazda Protege5
So about a year ago, I had purchased a Mazda Protege5 (2002) and about a month after, it had ran low on oil and the main and rod bearings got fried. Please not that i did an oil change on day 1 however didn't realize it was both burning and leaking oil. I replaced the main and rod bearing in my driveway while it was snowing. (not fun but had to do it, I need my car) It is still both leaking and burning but I have been using 10w30 and it has snowed the leaking. I am realizing more and more power loss and have decided to pull the engine and rebuild it. (including the heads because I am pretty sure that my valve seals are the source of the burn which in turn is probably harming my piston rings)

The main reason for this post is that I need some advise. Advice including torque specs of the entire engine, wiring diagram(preferably a blow up; this is going to be used to know what all I need to unplug or remove before the engine and tranny are pulled) and any problems that any of my fellow forum members have ran into with a similar project.

Any advice would be helpful and there is time. I don't plan on doing the rebuild until spring because I work in retail and i will not have the time to tackle this kind of project nor do I want to work in the cold yet again.

Once I tackle the project, I will post pictures and videos of the entire process of what was done each day.

P.S. I have never rebuilt a I4, but I have rebuild a 454 stroker for my boat. I wish I could put that 650 hp beast in my little Mazda xD
