So I've picked up a turbosmart hybrid. I've been trying to do research and trying to figure out info on it but all I've seen thats valuable as far as SETUP and not INSTALL is on SU's site that indicates the setting needs to be 1/4 of an inch, and then adjust as needed. What exactly does soft and hard mean on the top of the BOV...I'm assuming spring tension...and if so how does that relate to the rate of air passing through the BOV. Also I see everyone stating their running in 50/50...is that when your doing VTA and have all hoses connected? As you can tell im a newbie so please be gentle and hook me up with some knowledge.

yes 50/50 takes the air release, and gives 50% recirc and 50% to atmosphere.
full recirv BPVs are simply bolt on in place of stock, but the hybrid kit might be a lil diff, if you just google for install instructions (Street Unit Hybrid bpv/bov).

Soft & hard are indeed the spring settings. Usually soft handles up to 18psi, and hard often handles up to 24psi. Assuming the norm goes for the SU hybrid one. I believe all hoses hook up... recirc and vaccum. And the adjustments for vta, 50/50, recirc are on the valve itself...

Running 50/50 you'll wanna run a diff AP Cobb map, or get tuned.
Our engines were made for full recirc, and will backfire otherwise 50/50 or full vta.
its why i just bout the SU BPV instead of the hybrid.

So when you install the included banking plug does that make this BOV full recirculation, like it would act the same as a BPV?

exactly, with the plug in place of the horn its fully recirculated.

run it hybrid for awhile if you like, but eventually you will get backfires. fine tuning will help you adjust it to a minimum but will still backfire occasionally. but it sure does sound good. like a whip crack.
