ok, i must be the biggest dumbass. i read all of the other installation posts for the el door sills, i got as far as i could, but they were so vague. i have all of the wiring set up. i just need to know how to connect the black (ground wire) to the drivers side door open sensor. the posts i read said that it just gets 'connected' to the plug. i know it gets connected, but HOW? do i have to solder the wires, combine them? where do i put them? i need help...................somebody, anybody.........please.

don't do what i did.
i actually took the door pin apart and attached the black wires from the sills right onto the spade connector of the door pin. the door pin's black harness is held on to the wire with clips and was a pain to remove.

it's probably easier to buy some 18-22AWG wiretaps and tap in to the black/blue wire coming from the door pin. you can pretty much tap anywhere along the wire or you can tap right into the harness under the steering column.

one good thing is you can attach both black wires from the sills to any one door pin. i attached both to the driver's side and the passenger door pin switch will still control the sills.

that was the thread i used as a guide for my installation. i tried to take the door pin apart, but it feels like im going to break it. is there a method to getting it out? once its out, do i have to solder anything? i plan on finishing this tomorrow (4/2) so i need help asap. im tryin to do the same install that mp5alive, and i have everything in place, i just cant get the black wire connected to anything and i do not want to have to splice any wires cause i dont know what the **** im doing and i dont want to destroy my car.

ok, i have them hooked up, but they wont light up. they stay off whether or not i depress the door pin switch. wtf am i doing wrong? i losing my ******* patience here. this is 'supposed' to be a half hour job. my ass it is.
