Just purchased a new Wideband, from Innovate.

Seems to work perfectly, while driving I hover right around stoich (14.7 parts air to fuel).

But when my boost gauge gets past 0psi I go INSANELY rich, I will regularly see 9.4 - 9.6.
Can someone please tell me this is not normal? I believe to have an unflashed ECU
psi ~7
I just leak tested 5 days ago... and its pretty solid (minus leaking past cylinders)

I was also talking to jdwk, and He says that while in boost it is abnormal for me to be going rich at lower rpms (should wait for 4200rpm to richen up)... is this true?

Any rpm in any gear, if I go above 0psi i drop down to 9.4-10.1 AFR...
Does this sound normal? It would be how I would think it should function though...... but just not that rich.

Mods should be in sig.

Thanks,
-Kyle

Yes, that's normal. My wideband only reads from 10.1-16.9, and prior to me installing my SSAFC, It would hit 10.1 and stay there. After installing the SSAFC and tuning it to my liking, I'm running 10.7-12.2 AFRs depending on boost/rpm range.

I noticed something unusual yesterday... I was sitting in traffic for a long period of time (+100*F in WI) and I could go into boost and not go rich.... it would keep hunting for 14.7.....

My car normally works by dipping down into the 9's right as i get over 0psi..... in any rpm

driving a few minutes later out away from traffic I could boost and get pig rich right away... like normal.

Do you guys think this has to do with the EGR sensor? orrrr the EGR sensor solenoid? why would it act like that..
(maybe since i was hot and near idle most of the time... the egr was "working" but when does that solenoid fire off and on?)

idk, just shooting in the dark.. I am trying to "figure out" how this ecu is working.

yes that is prefectly normal... welcome to the stock craptastic tune..... If you trip the ECU to go into open loop at any time it will go into fat rich any anything at 1psi and above... even at 2k rpms... However if you haven't kicked it into open loop you will have to ring it out to aroudn 4k rpms to get that that fat rich afr. Tell you get the ecu to go itno open loop it will maintaince 14.X afr even in boost tell you trip it to go into open loop.

from what I remember years ago tuning my AFC I was always really lean until the ecu switched to closed loop. Read up in the afc thread, cause Im pretty sure if you are hitting boost in the lower rpms the norm is that usually it runs leaner until the switch. You might actually be better off running rich in lower rpm, I remember mine was like 14:1 and I was I bit worried about it at the time.

edit ^^he beat me to the punch lol
