MSP Rocks!

I just wanted to insert something positve into this forum. I see alot of people havng problems with their MSP and I know what thats like, I once bought a brand new car and had alot of problems with it. But so far I have had only a couple minor issues with the MSP and over all I love driving this car! I love the way it looks and feels and maybe I'll beef up the power when the warranty is up but it's still a blast to drive stock. Like I say, I'm certainly not trying to diminish the suffering of the percentage of folks that have problems but overall I think the MSP is a great car!

 (mspo) (drive)

That's what we like to hear!
I've been trying to talk my wife into trading her Miata for an MSP, so it's nice to have some positive "ammo". :p

Well I thank you, I am fairly new to this forum and you are the first positive post I've read. The first couple of threads when I first joined were all about the MSP problems. Sure it does need to be discussed and I do feel bad for those having problems but every car will have its problems. It was just nice to see a positive post finally. :)

I have issues with my speed, but I would not give it up for the world. All my issues, minus the hesitation, can be addressed by the dealer, and will be fixed this week.

I am truly happy with my purchase, and willing to say that I own one of the rarest cars in the world. :D

Not to jack this thread but I have my qualms with my MSP. However the overall picture is so positive. I get excited to drive the car everytime I get the chance and I've owned it for 4 months as of today. Just tonight after being out to dinner with my girl I decided to take the ultra twisty and long way home just for a little joy ride.

I've owned problem free econoboxes, trucks, and sedans before and they don't offer any "driver reward" like the MSP. Yes, I could let them go without oil for 10,000 miles and have no issues. Yes, I could rag on them incessantly and not fear any real consequences. Yet they never were any fun to own. They simply did there job quietly issue free and boring as HELL!

Even though I have the understated Black Mica I still get compliments all the time on the car. I just don't think any car for 20k on the market has anywhere near the "driver reward" that the MSP offers considering the handling, drivetrain, and overall package.

Uber rant and run-on over

No,,,No; Heathen; do rant on. there is nothing in the price range that touches it. Nothing!! The MAZDASPEED is so sweet! When I bought mine on Jan 10th, I felt I made the right decision. Now; months later, I feel every bit as strong about my purchase. I love this car so much, for so many reasons! (thumb)

i'm the same way. you cant beat the msp for the price. yes it does have its problems but thats is a major reason for this forum so us owners can discuss them and try to find an answer.

when i was looking at new cars it was between the msp and the nissan sentra se-r spec-v. i test drove both but the msp just drove better and the stereo system is better on the msp. yes the spec-v has 5 more horsepower bot whoops d doo! but marketwise the msp is soo much better.

and one of the main reasons i got the msp is because almost no1 owns one! i drive around every day and see at least 5 se-r's and like 2 spec-v's...and ive only seen 2 msp's on the road in new orleans besides mine. one is a yellow 2003.5 and another black one. so anyway im done ranting

See? I knew that there had to be more like me. :D

I did alot of comparison against the Se-R, Celica GTS and RSX-S. For the money, the MSP came out ahead. Performance specs were all comparable, the ride was superior and the stereo rocks. All good cars but the MSP was the best in my eyes. And yah there will be "issues" to work out, its the nature of this sort of car. But as mentioned in an earlier post, it has "driver reward". I like the way that sounds.

You are exactly right MoSqUiTo

I think it's easy to misinterpret posting a problem with your MSP on the forum as a general negative review on the car. This is just not true. The reality is when any of us have a single problem with my MSP, even a minor one, we bring it here first to see what others have done to remedy the situation. Very rarely do I post regarding the number of times I've been complimented on the car or used it's peppy engine to merge past an 18 wheel semi.
