I was driving my dads MSP to our work to drop off the closing keys. I took his MSP so i wouldn't have to pay for gas since I was making the trip just for him. I was turning left onto a 45mph zone (from a 30 zone) and decided to see what the MSP has (I dont drive my dads much, just my MP3). I floored it, personally i thought it was a little slower than my car at low rpms (maybe since I have a CAI on my MP3 and my dad doesnt) anyway, i floor it after completing the turn. The engine was so quiet upto high rpms i didnt even notice that i was pulling 7500rpms! anyhow, before i even hit 7500, i felt the rev limiter kick in. total fuel loss- nothing. my friend said he saw me going into the 7k rpms but didnt say anything  anyhow, i can tell you, the rev limiter does its job... WELL!! saved the engine, sure as hell :)

my mp3 has a rev limiter too, is that right? the limiter is governed by the ECU, correct?

yea its easy to hit the limiter on these cars if ur not paying attention. yea ur car will be fine. yea its pcm regulated.
