MSP = Porsche Killer

So Im rolling up to this light and see this Porsche coming up behind me, In my cocky head Im think how would my car compare to the power of a Porsche? Well I think God himself wanted to know too because at the last second the Porsche zooms into the open lane next too me. I know, at least think, I am going to get killed but I wanted to see how I would fair so at the green I take off. I swear he pulled next to me to race but when I took off he delayed a few seconds and I had about a cars to car & 1/2 lengths on him, then I hear his engine roar like no tomorrow. I push even harder on the gas, even though its floored and I am almost red lining every gear just hoping I can look decent next to thins guy. But he never pulls next to me, I can still hear his engine roaring like a beast and I check my rear mirror to see him gaining slightly but he never does and he quits at 90MPH. I was like holy s***! I know I got a small start on him but I totally though he would have eaten me up from behind. So I am slowing down pulling up to the next light and he rolls up on my side of the car and is like "you car is pretty quick!" "Whats inside??" We talk for a quick few seconds, then hes like "you ready?" and rev's his engine. I look ahead of me and the light was green and the people in front were already up ahead a bit. So I look back at him and he drops the clutch and is out. I try to go too but at idle taking off compared to a reving porsche I had no chance. Im proud of my baby though, it held off a 969? Porsche and gots props from him too

bad driver. has to be ;)
A porsche, even a boxter, has at least 260 or so hp, in a car that weighs about the same, if not less than the MSP. But hey, its a good kill never the less.

You must be talking about a 968...pretty much a gussied-up 944. But he still should've spanked you.

Nice Kill!(drinks)

Porsche has never built a car called a 969 (and if it was a 959; you would have been whipped like a red headed step child)

Must have been a 968, with no driver.

yeah, I have no illusions about beating him if we both launched at the same time. It was just nice to prove once again that 1) its the driver that counts and 2) our cars kick ass. Even if he sucked at driving he should have still been able to catch me just by hitting the gas

Yeah 968 sucks. They have an automatic version. They are weak, but still he would have wooped your ass like there is no tomorrow.

But hey!!!

This may be the only thread with a MAZDASPEED vs. Porsche comparison that will be seen in awhile. This is cool!

Comparing a Mazda product to a Porsche....well; why bother?

Sure; these cars might be made to go faster in a straight line for a short time; but a Porsche is so far beyond a Mazda it isn't funny. The last thing on Porsches mind is going straight.

id say he trumped ur ass plain and simple let u get full of it in ur head and spanked u just to prove a point ;op

Ok did it look like a 911 or was it a front engine Porsche like a 944/928?

I'm NOT in any way saying your story is BS, I believe that you spoke with him and he gave your car props for being quick etc. But don't kid yourself that he was really running WOT trying to catch you.

Even if it was a 968 which would be slower than most 911 variants, he had 236hp. I owned a 944Turbo in my bachelor days with 217hp and take my word for it, he could have caught you if he had tried. Not disrespecting anyone's MSP but there's no such thing as a "Race" between an MSP and a Porsche if the Porsche driver is trying.

Hmmm

The non turbo 968 is ok but not a beast in fact with enough boost on our MSP's we could put up a damn good fight.
Now the turbo model would haul some ass.
