MSP Oil filter recommendations?

i bought Red Line stuff from a Nissan dealer in Richardson by 75. I don't know if it's good price, but very convenient for me. They also carry Royal Purple stuff.

Can't find that thread, but I read through another post that Mazda changed their OEM oil filter for the Protege. I didn't think much about it until I changed my oil this weekend... the oil filter socket wrench that I have been using for the past couple changes is now too big for the oil filter... I knew I should have stocked up on the filters... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Where do you people buy the Red Line stuff? Online?

you can buy it online but your local shops should have it...egardless of whether they specialize in imports..domestics..etc...

Anyone tried one of Walmarts SuperTech filters? The efficiency #'s on the side are impressive.

I'm pretty sure I'm using one of those right now.... it seems fine to me. I think everything except Fram is fine, ya know? I stay away from fram.

SuperTech is fine - however it only filters down to .20 microns (I think). Mobil1, K&N and the other premium (including Fram's X2) filter smaller particles.

That being said, look at the filter tests at http://bobistheoilguy.com. Some good info about flow (that I wouldn'tr even have thought of).

I use K&N now...
