MSP ECU recall

I've heard rumors around random threads that the MSP was recalled for its ecu tune. Is this true? If so can it be done at a Mazda dealer? What's the price?

Most likely you read stuff about the flash, which was free provided that your car was within the month & mileage warranty parameters. No MSP is at this point.

If he had a time machine it would be! And he could fit the MSP in it.

WAIT! He could retrofit a flux capacitor into it! Problem solved!

There is a whole thread on this subject. But yes in the minds of the team that quickly put together the flash to address the severe hesitation/stumbling issues it is supposed to be better. After buying my car new unflashed and experiencing the issues I wanted to drive it through the dealership window. Had to wait 5 months to get it flashed. Sure the driveability was noticeably better however it was not a 100% fix. You need a standalone and tuning for that. If your MSP is unflashed a certified Mazdaspeed dealer will charge you most likely whatever the shop fee is for 1 hour, that is about how long it takes.

I wouldn't say that you need a stand alone EMS... A piggyback will suffice.
