Hello, I'm doing some research on bringing an AWD Ford Focus to life. I'm looking on what kind of manual transmission(getrag?) and transfer case(or PTO) the MS6s are using. Does anyone have any info or pics of that assembly that they could post?
I'm not dead set on any single engine, I've been looking at Volov s40's, Jag x-types, etc. All have different engine/trans combos. There is going to be a lot of fabrication- I'm just trying to find the best route.
the problem with the escape powertrain is that the 2.0/2.3 transmission and driveline is relatively weak. The 2.5L drivetrain is only available in an automatic transmission.
how bout its european counterpart...I could of sworn that the EUs had a mtx v6 in their fusion twin running around those parts...personally i'd look into the cosworth option...
I don't really have access to Euro parts, the RS2000 Escort Cosworth cars had AWD, only the engine was mounted front to back. There is a Focus someone built like that- pretty impressive- there's a video on Streetfire.net of it drifting around the racetrack. I'm looking for parts that are easier to find, and possibly cheaper.
It appears that the rear differential is similar to the escape and fusion(both have a final drive ratio of 2.93) The main difference I can see is that the MS6 uses a larger ring gear. Do you know what kind of manual transmission the MS6 uses? Is it a Getrag? Thanks for the info!
