MPH Fuel Cut

How many of you guys have experienced the 10psi fuel cut and under what conditions? I would like to set my boost at 10.5psi without hitting the fuel cut. Anybody figure out what conditions trigger it? Is it immediately after 10psi is hit, is it a time frame in high boost? thanks

i guess i need to change my signature, i am only running 9psi right now :-) but i would like to bump it up to around 12 when i know ill be racing.

joe p will be selling my piggyback soon that can take care of that problem;)

Anybody tried the Joe P FCD or the HKS FCD?

thank GOD!! no street driven protege needs to go any faster than that.

STREET DRIVEN

the protege is not a sports car, i repeat, the protege is not a sports car

if you wanna go that fast, the only place to do it, is at the track!

The boost cut is based on several combined factors, airflow, load, RPM, etc.. My FCD will basically prevent it from seeing airflow beyond the cut point. this is not a problem at all with the MSP since they go open loop and just dump fuel up top anyway. On other cars, once you add an FCD, you have to tailor the fuel curve accordingly. I guess that is one plus to having this retarded mapping :).

Email me at kwiktsi@nycap.rr.com and I will let you know details on when the units will be ready. I am done with all the tweaking, I just need to work on finding enclosures and have my guy make up a bunch of the boards for me. Won't be long though.
Joe
PS- For those that have been following the thread about the FCD- I am ditching the potentiometer, there will be no fuel adjustment. It is going to be locked at a set value that is beneficial to the MSP. I found that if you go too far one way or another, it likes to throw a CEL after driving and idleing for a while. I was able to get enough out of it to help with the richness before the 4500 point and just leave it there. The FCD circuit remains the same as always.

Hmmm

So if it is a sports car" then one can drive as fast as one desires and you would be ok with it?
Please chode what if we want the Limit removed to go to a track and top out cars out even if we only get to do it once?
This car is perfectly capable of handling the high speed with the mods it has tires (z rated), suspension etc. No one with any sense would drive 130 MPH on a public road in any consistent fashion.
I have made the occasional 3 am South I35 blast to the limit but again it is well lit, flat, with a 2 mile view and no traffic.
Or a high speed run down 287, which is flat for miles and miles going up to the Texas panhandle and is very sparsly populated in spots. There exist even today a few places that the only person you will kill with excessive speed is yourself.

mx3ownzjoo, no offense, but keep the public service bulletins in another forumn, this was intended to be a technical discussion not a pissing contest on what you think is safe and whatnot. As for the QUESTION AT HAND!!!!!!, thanks for the input guys, joe, i'm looking forward to the release of the fcd, ill drop you an email when i get home about it.
