MP3 pocket

I know this has been discussed before, but I never really got a clear answer...
Does anyone know if I can fit the pocket from the MP3 in my P5 (the one that has the door on the bottom)? I put in a single DIN deck and the kit I got with it looks like s***. There is just a big open space underneath the deck.

Yes, it will fit. Finding one for a reasonable price, that's another story.

OK, I bought the pocket. It fits into the dask perfectly....just snaps right in there. Cost me a hefty fortune from the dealer though (I couldn't find one anywhere else). But now there seems to be a little extra space between the pocket and deck which makes for a less than tight fit. I'm not quite sure why there is this extra space...I must be doing something wrong. I am using the same sleeve that came with the deck, but it doesn't seem to fit properly with the pocket. Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this problem?

get an MP3 HU pocket? justa thought...I have an aftermarket unit in my MP3 and it fits perfect

That's what I have. The pocket does fit perfectly, but there seems to be too much space for the deck....it kinda moves up and down a bit...not a tight fit. Is there another piece I need to tighten it up or something?

The MP3, and other Protege's with a single-din unit stock, have a thin "cross-member" inside the dash between the deck and the pocket. The P5 having a full double-din needs to remove this piece. I'd find something to secure in-between the deck's mounting sleeve and the pocket that will push the deck all the way to the top.

Thanks for the advice. I've been hearing rumors that there is another peice that you need to go with the mp3 pocket and you can get it from the dealer. apparently this piece makes the fit perfectly....a little bar or something like that? Does anyone know if this is true and if so, would someone happen to have the part number?
