Moonroof only on GT trim?

Was really interested in the new 6 until I started to build one on the Mazda site and realized the only way to get Bose and a moonroof is to get the $30k GT trim. Apparently you cannot add a sunroof to a touring trim? The CX-5 and 3 both have a moonroof/bose option that you can add to the touring trim. Heck the moonroof comes standard on the $24k Accord EX. Also the $300 premium for the BEAUTIFUL soul red paint kills it too.

Oh well that's the way it is. It would be nice if Japanese auto makers can offer options a la carte, but they'd rather bundle them up. The Germans are going the same trend.

Personally, the moonroof is really only for my kids. Useless for rainy days, and too much sun on sunny days. Obviously I'm not a convertible kind of guy.

I feel the same, I've had 3 cars with moon roofs, opened them all collectively about 6 times just to see if they worked. I even had a 93 Miata with hard top, took it off and on when purchased, again, to see if latches, etc worked ok. I'll take AC any day

I would be quite disappointed, mine's open every day its not raining and not in negative temperatures. Thankfully, I live in Canada and the hole in the roof comes equipped with the Touring model.

My main use for the moonroof is to let more light in, I feel less claustrophobic in a car with not too much headroom.

My issue with the moonroof is the noise. Acceptable for certain cars (luxury ones) but not sure if Mazda's cabin is quiet enough.

damn you guys are not lucky...in Canada, you have the moonroof with the GS package..no package option needed..and heated seats come with the base model too...went shopping yesterday and bought an mazda6 GS
