The original idea was starved rock -- it's clear some fo you simply dont want to waste your gas on all of that super boring, long ass crazy drive. Guess what -- I get bad mileage, but i'm not complaining.

Guys, at 10:00 pm Thursday night, when I had stated at the beginning of the thread would be the ending of the poll, Starved Rock had 7 votes. Beach Park had 6 votes, but there were 2 people - Jose and Dexter - who were unable to vote in the poll and asked me to cast their vote for Beach Park. The intent of the 10pm cutoff Thursday night was so that people had (1) over a full day to decide; and (2) the ability to go into work on Friday and request off for Saturday the 13th and satisfy the 2 weeks' advanced notice most employers require.

DO THE MATH. Starved Rock lost by one.

I posted links in the 3 threads we had going about a meet on May 13th AND posted the same link in the comments file of all my MySpace friends who are also Illinois members on this board. There are probably some who didn't vote.

Starved Rock didn't win. I would have enjoyed going. Andrea was excited to go to it as well. But it didn't. Sometimes life doesn't go your way. Here's an idea for next time. Let's set a date in the summer. NOW. Let's set the location. NOW. Otherwise, we'll do all this junk again.

However, I have called the Beach people and I told them, I am estimating about 10-15 people are coming for sure and we are expecting more to come. The lady said that we have to have atleast 25 + people in order to get a reservation.

Hopefully it is still early in the year that there won't be many people deciding to do other recreational activities but I highly doubt it.

where is this beach and why did it win the vote when starved rock has more votes? i didn't get to vote since i was sick and unable to leave my bed for a week or so (had mono and the flu and other stuff all at the same time) not sure if it matters but i kinda wanted starved rock but whatever.... when you all decide be sure to post directions cause like i said i dont even know where this beach park is (state/city) i'll likely be there... i really want to work on my car since i'm so far behind from being sick and then easter but i also would like to hang out so i'll probably bite it and just go hang out instead of work on getting my car running

if it's any consollation, a different group of people will be down at starved rock the same day, just not mazdas. nissans, camaros, whatever. starved rock has proven its awesomeness in the past, and i would much rather go there than beach state park.
