MazdaSpeed Performance Specs?

I'm confused by the descriptions of the MazdaSpeed performance parts at the Mazda dealer.

Most of these are available for the Mazda 6, as well as for the MazdaSpeed 6.

So, for example, is the coilover suspension kit an upgrade for the Mazda 6, to the MazdaSpeed 6 specs, or is it an upgrade for the MazdaSpeed 6, for more performance? How about the sway bars, exhaust, etc?

Thanks for any insight on this, or for a source for the exact specifications.

What you will find is that Mazda offers little in the way of upgrade parts for the Speed6. Just because they sell parts labeled Mazdaspeed does not mean it will work on the Speed6. There are many differences between the models, basically the Speed6 is a heavier model with an upgraded suspension stock which means the stuff you see on the corporate website is only an upgrade for the plain-Jane models. Your best bet for upgrades for a Speed6 is the aftermarket.

Any mechanical or performance part pretty much won't work on the MS6. Tell us what you are interested in and we will point you in the right direction for aftermarket parts.

If you check out the accessories section of onlinemazdaparts.com (sponsor here on the board) you will find they specifically state which items are for the Speed6. That might help clear things up for you. Then as chuyler1 said you can ask here for anything you are interested in, there are getting to be quite a few of us who are modding our Speeds. Just know that nothing for this car is inexpensive.
