Mazda5 Roof Rack for Cheap

Yup, another member and me bought one. Still haven't installed it, hopefully I'll be able to tomorrow.

I've got a Rola I'll sell for less than that as soon as I figure out whether or not it will fit on my 2014 Mazda3. Trailer hitch also...

You could try comparing part numbers on thules site. I bet its exactly the same foot pack.

Yup, a few of us have gotten the racks from them. I've had mine for about two years now.

How's the wind noise on these (loaded and unloaded?) Now that you've had them for a couple years and they've presumably been loaded and have gone through weather and car washes, how have they worn?

I got my roof rack yesterday. The Mazda part number on the box was 0000-8L-L09 as listed in the auction.
I know the picture in the auction shows the cross bars extending out past the the mounting brackets, but i was hoping for cross bars that ended at the bracket attach. The Mazda USA accessory website shows a picture of that configuration with the same 0000-8L-L09 part number.

Does anyone know if there are two different roof rack designs?

You guys that ordered this roof rack: Did yours have cross bars that extend past the roof mount brackets?

They do add a little bit of wind noise but nothing outrageous. I don't have a fairing on mine because I want to maintain full use of my moonroof and the fairing prohibits that. So all I have is the little wind diffusers that come with it and they seem to work good. Depending on what you load up there will determine how much more noise you'll get. I use a Yakima Basket and even loaded with stuff from time to time it doesn't seem to be annoyingly loud. Of course, if I open my moonroof it's a different story but even with no rack at all the open moonroof creates a lot of noise due to the way it opens up and out.

Yes there was two designs. Unfortunately unless you find a used "old" design where the bars ended at the mounting brackets, the only OEM option now is the one you got which has the bars that extend past the foot brackets.

It's enough to bug me during my commute. But it might be different with 2012+ models. Regardless I decided to get a fairing.

Mine look like the ones in your picture.

Is this really OEM for mazda 5? Just wondering since it is so much cheaper than OEM for sale on the internet and at dealers...
