update: mission successful...there is a small crack on the inner part right near the tip but it doesn't go all the way through... is that worth of replacement?

im all cracked up! think the dealership will just order me a new one over the phone? cause the mazdaspeed dealer is like an hour from hear, and id hate to have to drive all the way up for them just to look at it to order one? another thing, i only wanna bother if they get me the mazdaspeed one, if not, it aint worth it. i bet they r only putting them on the 03's and not the 3.5's because there newer, just a guess??

I don't think the 03's muffler are cracking, only the 03.5's

I have a 2003.5 MAZDASPEED Protege with 9k on it with a badly cracked muffler tip. As you probably already know this is an issue on the 2003.5 model. The problem is your shop is an hour away from me. How can I get this replaced without taking 2 separate days off from work, making 2 different appointments and driving down there 2 different times? I could take some digital pictures, or a short movie and email it to you guys, anything to help this go smoother.

The crack will only grow. The end of the tip may fall off eventually.
