Well, I received 8th place at the autocross event this weekend out of 13 participants in the STS class.
Dan (owner of a kickass green turbo Miata - SM2) drove my car in the X class as xSTS and came out with 6th place trophy. His time was good enough to be placed 3rd in the STS class I was running in, therefore, giving me hope that it is just me needing to improve on my driving skills (thumb). Remind you all, this is virtually an all stock vehicle in regards to autocross. I do have an intake and SS, but those do not really help improve your autocross performance... they just basically help kick you out of the stock class and into the lion's den, STS class (rice class?
).

A P5 showed up to race under NHS as well and almost took home a trophy! His results can be viewed here .
FSP had a '99 Protege champ. I believe it is a Protege ES, but he had installed all the MP3 suspension parts to the ES. He's pretty good, and maybe he'll decide to jump into STS one day... but like what we both were talking about... the STS seems more for cars that not only have race performance parts, but also lots of the shinny aftermarket parts... where as FSP have cars that basically focus on real performance parts.
Need to read up on the rules as to the difference between Street Prepared and Street Touring. Sounds like both are pretty much the same.
Oh, right... need a the local Mazdaspeed owners to come out and participate.... we were all talking about it since the SRT-4 showed up. With a good driver, I'm sure the Mazdaspeed can take on the SRT-4 easily.
