OMG, I just locked up my car right now...engine's running...
My dad has copy of key...I have to let my car run it for about a hour or more...
ah!!!! stupid me...:wtf:
btw, does anyone know if unlock feature from remote is still working while engine's running?

P.S. Kids! try this at home, but don't try this if you are away from home. lol

ah....what a relief... the reason i asked if remote is working is that my 2nd key I got it from dealer won't work from driver's side door.
anyway..thanks guys...:)

jimmy it open with a wire hanger down the window to catch the locking mechanism ;)

I don't think it will work on our MP5
using hanger takes lots of practice.
I don't want to mess up my window rubber

i used to keep a slim jim under my car in case i locked my keys in it
that was back in high school when i drove a hyndai excell

my remote doesn't work, and copy of key doesn't work either.
fuxx, I called roadside assistance but omfg...my car's been running for about 2 hours now

Whenever I get a new car I RTM cover to cover, I remember reading that the keyless entry will not work with a key in the ignition.

I knew about this issue, but Gyre told me it will work
Yes, the remote works while the car is running.
I have tried this matter sometime ago, but I couldn't remember if it worked or not.

I hate my dealer !!!! they gave me wrong number to roadside assistance and I have actully called canada road assistance to get a US road assistance number.

Hope fully by the time you read this you'll have your car open. I used to drive for AAA and I'll tell ya, these cars are not difficult to open as long as you do it with a slim jim. Since you don't have one I would seriously recomend calling a AAA approved tow company and ask them to do a "cash" call for a lock out on your car. That runs anywhere from $15-20 and pay it. Then you can always claim it on either you insurance if they cover it or with the MAZDA Roadside assistance that does cover it for sure. Just tell them thier customer service wasn't helpful in locating someone who could do it right away.

Not to scare you but there are a couple things you need to be concerned about right now and that is you car can overheat with no direct air flow other than the fan and sometimes that is not enough. try to keep an eye on the temp if you can. Also, as I've read somewhere on these post if you run it out of gas there could be some other problems, of course running out of gas is never a good thing anyway.

Like i said, hope it's opened by now.

Good luck!

i did that once.. but my house was a few streets down so my mom came with the key... i didnt mean to lock myself out.. a friend said something mean about my gf.. i chased him around the car and locked the doors so he couldnt get his stuff out.. then i ran out and my door got closed.. took me a second to realize what i just did.. it was only running for 15 min.. one of my teachers had a credit card key he keeps in his wallet for situations such as that.. but that only helps if u carry a wallet... its made out of plastic..

sorry to hear that happened, wanna share the story behind it?

My keyless entry didnt work when my mom brought the key.. but it may have been because of a dead battery... im not to sure..

Uhh yeah only takes one time getting locked out in bad weather or something to make you carry a spare key in your wallet. Not trying to be mean here or anything but I had to laugh when I read this. I mean think about it you are stuck outside of your car and your car is on. The only thing funnier than that is if you were to turn the car on and have the key break off in the ignition. That happened on my ex girlfriends jeep. She let it run for over an hour till I got there with some needle nose pliers and turned it off. Well hope everything turned out ok.
