Well, I finnaly fixed my leaks, and set the fuel presure to 50 PSI. I took it for a ride, and I thought I heard something funny. Turned out to be a loose metal clip in my A-pillar. I hit it, and it took off for about 2 seconds before I let off. After all I have been through, I was scared! I hit it hard a couple of times, and it cut off on me?? :wtf: I know some of you have had the same issue. What was the fix? It seem to idle fine mostly. It dips sometimes, but it idles good. My device from FM arrives on Friday, so maybe I will go from 6-8 psi. I am rambling, and oh so tired after the 4 + full days of install BY MYSELF! Not a good combo. I am gonna get back to work!

Congrats Linux! I know the feeling. Burning the midnight oil!!! It all pays off when you hear that turbo spooling up and then... C-YA!

Congrats dude.....lets just keep this one together for a while...K? we don't want to see you all sad and moppy again.

(stash)

Congrats on finally getting it up and running. Hopefully you can get it nicely tuned and then we'll see what you can do. For some reason I feel we'll see a lot more of your "on the road" stories. :)

:p

Congrats!!!!! I'm sure you'll get her all tuned up soon. I've had mine on for 3 weeks now and am still checking under the hood each day and making small adjustments. But other thant he pinging all is well:'( hehe

As soon as the FM fix and my P5 ECU get here I'm sure the pinging will be a thing of the past.

All us turbo MP3's should meet up somewhere one day. I know ther are a few in TX, and then a few more WAYYY on the east coast, but heya man can dream can't he?

I can't fallow a damn thing you just said. Whats the problem?

Congrats! (thumb) Drive safely, please! Oh, who am I kidding? This is insane LinuxRacr (now with boost) I'm posting to. Just drive... :D

Congrats, Linux! Yeah, I remember reading about that cutoff issue...didn't smp have it? What was the cause in his?

Good to hear someone else that is spoolin. Mine is doing the same thing, but it is my Vortech FMU (10:1) After I come out of boost the engine tries to shut off, but I just down shift. Hopefully I can get something to take the place of this FMU, 10:1 is to much.

Now I understand.
Mine did something similar. I floored it in 5th and the car just died.
I had to restart it while rolling at 50 mph on the highway. I have had it happen too when i have had to slow down right after using boost.

Hmm, if I'm understanding this correctly, Linux is saying that the car stalls on him????

If this is the same issue I had-first check for vaccum leaks (mainly intake hoses and IC pipes.

After that check and make sure the FPR is giving you the feul pressure you need. Richen it up if neccesary. 45-50 at idle and anything over 65 at 6 psi.

I had the same prob just back the screw off a couple of turns thus turning up the idle a little and you'll be fine. My idle is set at about 850rpms. It's good to be worried at first and CHECK ALL HOSES everyday I know I did for the first month.

I did this this morning on the way home from work, with the fuel pressure gague on the outside of the winshield. I got 80 psi at full boost. I talked to WShade who just told me that happens because of the "fight" between the stock FPR, and the BEGI FPR. When you are on hard boost, you have a lot of fuel going trhough, so a sudden, abrupt let-off of the gas kinda chokes the engine for a second, while the stock FPR recovers. One solution is to let off the gas slower.

To the guys running the vortech units. Make sure that you guys have no vacum leaks. I know this has been stressed before but when running my car around on the stage 1 kit, we ran a vortech 8:1 FMU with no idle issues whatsoever. Actually, I have never had issues except for vacum leaks I had in the beginning.

And how are you guys determining if you are running overly rich at idle? Do you have accurate a/f monitoring devices? I know pro5 is using a halmeter wich is good but perhaps he is getting this overly rich condition because of his 12:1 ratio:eek:
