led lights on spoiler

i just had this thought and I dunno anything about cars or electronics (but I do know about architecture) but I was thinking.... I think it would be pretty cool if you could re program the leds so that if you signalled left then they would turn on one by one from right to left and the opposite would happen if you signalled right....

any thoughts?

if you remember...and you may not due to your age....MANY older fords did this....the right and left tail lights were made up of as many as 3 to 4 lights...and when you turned on that turnsignal....the lights would light up in sequence....from inside to outside...indicating direction.....so I am sure you could do this...it would just be a matter of getting a hold of the sequensers...and a few switches..and a relay or two...and designing the schematic, do some experimentation to get it all just right.....and presto chango...you got what you are looking for.

wow, didn't know they already had such cool things going on back then....
hm..... sounds like a lot of work.... maybe I'll wait till I graduate.....

I seem to remember...

that sequential turn signals were a feature on a late 60's Ford product, but I can not remember what model. It was a popular customize thing for 'Vette owners. Add a thrid set of taillights and then make them sequential with the Ford unit. Or was that a Chrysler product. Good Ole J. C. Whitney used to sell a unit that went in the back window on the parcel shelf that blinked sequentially right/left. Jim

there were quite a few Ford models and a few Lincoln and Mercury models that had blinkers like this....it carried through out the line.

i like what the the street bikes can get for there tail and headlights... the taillights blink if like 10 different patterns and ther they do circles... and the head lights just do like a short blinkin strobe light...
