Leasing deals.....

1k down, 350 a month. Is this a good deal?

I think you can do better, especially if you are taking from dealer stock. I would say there is at least $20 per month to play with. I assume your price does not include taxes and that you are not eligible for any type of Ford or Mazda S-plan discount. You have to do the leg work and visit some other dealers. They are reluctant to quote you prices over the phone for the exact reason you will just play the dealers against eachother. Walk into a dealership claiming you received a price of $1K down and $335 per month but say they didnt have the exact car you want, then ask him to beat it on a car from dealer stock. If he does, lease the car if he has the one you want. Or take your new offer back to your dealer and get the car you want.

The offer is pretty good though, considering only $1000 down.

that IS OUT THE DOOR. I did that game, went to one dealer, they said 350. Went to another they said 380.....told them the other dealer wants 350. I told them if they can get me a red one they have my business for 350 out the door per month. (they didnt have a red one in stock) BTW is city tax included on the monthly payment, or is that just sales tax. I asked and the salesman said yes. im always reluctant to trust a salesman. Im going to call the dealer that does have them in stock and see if they can beat it, but for now, is that a good deal out the door, im guessing yes as you thought it wasnt out the door.

i work at bestbuy, and know there WAS a ford discount but cant find it anywhere now, so im guessing i dont anymore now we only have GM.

350 out the door is not a bad deal, but like I said I would think there is still some money to play with. The price they quote you should include all taxes and fees if they say "out the door", I cannot help you with city taxes, dont have them in Michigan. When I was looking I actually went to 5 or 6 different dealerships and called a few more. You actually have to step foot inside the dealership in order to get the deal. They are much more likely to go down if they think they will sell on the spot. I actually lied in my pitches to the dealers, claiming I got a slightly lower offer than I actually had, but within reason. Your deal is reasonalbe though, if you cant get lower, dont be discouraged.

Make sure that's 1000 total... Not sure if it's agreat deal since it's been a while since I did a Mazda6 lease. Anyway, the cash down is where a lot of people get messed up when leasing. When I work a deal with customers I use total cash out of pocket (cap cost plus inceptions) while many dealers just use cap cost and try to whack you for inceptions later. This can make a great deal go south real quick. Good luck to you.

i told them i have 1k out of pocket to throw down. another dealer gave me same quote after finnagling with 1k down out of pocket. so unless all mazda salesman are crooks it must be right. Ill find out saturday. Since youve done a lease before, are city taxes included at lease signing aka the monthly fee, or is that even paid on a lease?

Not sure where you are, but the taxes are based on you monthly pmt... Here in Fort Lauderdale, if you have a $300/mo lease pmt, then tax in, you'd be at $318/mo based on 6% sales tax. Hope that answers your question. LMK how it goes.
