Launching the MS6..& Oil consumption question

Hey guys.. Just curiouse on this one. I had a Sti before my last car a s60R and for those of you who know about the STI tranny it's BULLIT proof I launched that car @5k all day long never had a issue.. My buddy with a wrx has a glass tranny he screwed his synchros and 1st -2cnd gear but launching just a few times.. The Evo stock clucth/tranny is pure crap and the weakest link on that car.. So my question is can I do 4-5k rpm launches at the track or once in a while? Can the car /tranny handle it
Thanks.. also being a turbo charged car does the MS6 burn oil? My Sti burnt alot of oil I use to to carry a quart of oil in my trunk and top it up every once in a while

The MS6 can handle 5k launches. I do it all the time. Havent had a problem nor I know of anybody having such.

if you beat the car substantially you could probably go thru a quart every 3k miles no problem. launches at 5k won't be too harsh as long as you dont dump or side step the clutch lol. i haven't tried that at all, just slipping at 4.5 to 5 all the time. awesome superior launches every try.

When u say slip clutch what do u mean? I am used to reving to 4-5 k and just letting her rip

slipping the clutch means slowly taking it out...it should take 0.8-1 second...kinda like taking your foot off the brake.

yes and when you first start trying it out you'll probably end up riding it, so expect to smell some rotten eggs from your trans. but eventually once you get it right and perfect you'll be able to launch perfect while saving your transmission vs. just dropping the sucker.

Yea Ive Been Having Problems Launching At The Track... She Will Bogg Down When I Tried Dumping At Low And Hig Rpms.. Im Still Working On Slipping It But No One Seems To Kno How To Launch It Yet... Ive Gotten It To 14.6 With A Bg Down At The Staging Area When The Green Light Came Down... Any Tips?
