well to each his own i do know the fs engine in and out as well as the g type transmission and modified one before i got a mspeed

Only thing you gotta fabricate are the piping. not hard if you know how to use a MIG. and with the comment about the HKS timer... ill take that as a joke since ill be strictly using mostly HKS parts which most people here probably wont even think bout buying due to their steep price. as a owner of a Mspeed I find only the best parts deserve to be on my car. unlike people who buy mods just to say how many mods they have. i go for quality not quanitity. and that includes quality installs no ghetto rigs or wiring hangin all over the place. i have other little s*** like the Mega flow to be a mod but since you want more HKS stuff i have there you go thats another part I have thats HKS. and since i do believe in not doing things halfed ass. ill be curious to what you have to say when i install my HKS EVC and SSQ BOV and front mount with all hard piping at the same time along with the 3 inch mandrel bent turbo back with a hks titanium muffler with ceramic heat coating. Oh and make my fried rice with chicken.

OK, I think this guy may know the FS motor pretty well, but I had a very hard time understanding most of his last post. Can we say bad grammar. Dude, no offense or anything, but you really do need to learn how to use commas and periods at the end of your sentences. He is right about the racing hart not being authentic. The MP3 as well as the MSP both rock wheels made Enkie, not Racing Hart. Real racing harts would cost way too much for mazda to get. I personally don't give a s*** about the Racing Harts because they're too damn heavy.

But, here's a thought for everyone. Usually the people who claim they know a lot about a specific topic end up not necessarily having all the knowledge. Furthermore, if this guy does know his s***, he would be building a car right now and have pics available. Anyway, let's not take my post off-topic and keep discussing the SRT-4

I am simply dumbfounded by this post.
The only rice that will be frying is your own hide after you get it handed to you by someone who actually has performance upgrades and isnt bench racing about all the HKS parts that they will someday have.
This post reads like a Super Street mag that was half digested and regurgitated. (no)

So here are the issues with the SRT-4 vs MSP:

1) Styling - For all those people that love the WRX, the front facia of the SRT-4 isn't that much different, both have very prominent "bug-eye" headlights. Granted the rest of the WRX is more chiseled while the SRT-4 continues the theme of its front end.

2) Reliability - People keep saying, "Its just a Neon, wait till you hit 40,000 miles". Well, a lot of the MSPs here have less than 500 miles and have problems, so who's to say what the future will hold.

3) Performance - Whether it be a real race track or just a 1/4 mile strip, the SRT-4 will win.

So in the end, the SRT-4 isn't as bad of a car that its made to be.

I just want to say that whether you get the SRT-4 or MSP, congrats on your purchase!!!

ps Why didn't Mazda take the Eropean Focus RS engine and put into the MSP??

unlike most people who talk about getting them i actually do. you pay for what you get. and no i was talking about his rotas which are some cp 035 knockoffs.

Great....I just heard a commercial on the radio for the SRT-4. Seeing as how Dodge isn't marking it up, that means that every 17-22 year old kid is gonna get their had on that thing. Which in turn means possibly more street racing accidentd here in cali. I no longer want one. Just imagine the insurance on one of those after a year goes by. Sure the SRT-4 is fast, but I'm worried that a lot of teenagers will get their hands on them. I hope parents are smart enough to teach their kids to be responsible behind the wheel.

nicely said....but kids have to learn on their own. i did. My car broke down, i fixed it, i got a ticket i paid for it and took the course. I use to race lost 2 friends to it never racing on the street again.
Please if you get a nice car race on a TRACK or take it to a AutoX. thank u

Yes they are cheap versions of some other forged wheel but the thing is that for the same price as a 22 lb wheel I got a 18 lb wheel that looks great. While you are saving up for the real thing I will actually be driving my car and enjoying my ass off.

There are a couple of things I can say about the srt4 that dodge has done right, that MAzda didn't.

1. It released on time.
2. They are actually advertising it. I've seen the SRT4 commercial a few times now on tv
3. They actualy put in a BOOST GAUGE!!! Imagine, a turbo car with a boost gauge....hello.....Mazda???? Can you spell Mazdaspeed accesories?
4. They hit the 200hp mark, which is what the Speed should've had to really make an impact on market.

Comparison. I don't know why I'm doing this....

97 Prelude I had. 195hp, smoothest tranny ever built, moonroof, cd/air/power everything, abs Bose system, heated seats, aluminum alloys, spoiler etc etc...29995.00.

Speed, you know the specs, priced here, all said and done here in town it's exactly 28000.

I'm wondering why the speed is such a great deal anymore? take into account that the new 2003.5's are going to be about 800.00 more....your looking at almost 29 grand, and my seats are still not heated :)
