Just picked up a brandy new Mazda 6 GT in Silver. 6 cylinder with auto (I'm getting too old to shift). Spent a lot of time researching this one. Had it narrowed down to Altima, Camry SE (oops) and Malibu LTZ. The Toyota obviously eliminated itself this week, Altima was a little too stodgy (although I really liked the CVT tranny), so I was down to the Chevy and the Mazda. Even though I work part time at the local Chevy store, I haven't purchased an American car in 25 years. Got real close, the LTZ is a sweet ride. In the end though, the Mazda won out. I don't think I'll regret my choice.
In the past, I've owned a second generation 1983 RX7, a 2003 6S, and a 2006 RX8. All great cars; I'm looking forward to my new GT as being as zoom, zoom a car as the last three.
Oh, my wife is on her second Miata, she wouldn't drive anything else....so we're back to being a 2 Mazda car family.
