Is it really worth it?

I suggest everyone take a quick look at the above link. There are many reasons for people to not drink and drive, and not one solid one where you -should- drink and drive.

Here's a few I thought of:

1. The above link takes care of one of them.

2. No more zoom-zoom for you.

3. Loss of life.

4. Loss of license.

5. Loss of respect.

6. Loss of freedom (if you go to jail).

This post kinda hit me hard because on Friday at noon, we took off early from work and the boss was buying everyone drinks. I did have a few, wasn't totally smashed, but I wasn't sure if I was okay to drive. But I had to get to my parents' house for dinner, so I drove it. I took it slow, careful, and managed to get there okay.

On my way home from my parents' place (this was many hours later), I was stopped at a checkpoint. The cop directed me in, asked me if I had anything to drink tonight, to which I replied no (because it was 8-10 hours earlier) and then let me proceed.

It was kinda sobering, you know? Just because I got away with it earlier in the day, doesn't mean that I'm invincible. I'm kinda glad for those cops who stop people to keep our streets as safe as they can.

That way we can all enjoy our zoom-zoom a little safer. :) q

Thanks for listening to me rant.

don't do that again, man.

veetwelve (from calgary) did it too and lost his license for 90 days.

you're both lucky nothing worse happened.

My little brother bought an MP3 about two months before his 21st birthday. Then he was driving home about a month after his birthday from the bar. Rolled through the stop sign and got stopped. Before this he had 12 points for speeding. He lost his license, has to go to AA and wont get his license back for a year. The MP3 sits in the driveway collecting its car payment each month. Dinking and driving is stupid and not worth the time and money it will cost you.
