i searched the forum for a how to on installing a coolant temp gauge, autometer one.. i am wondering what all is needed for this install abnd where to hook up the sensor to. if anyone has some information on this please let me know thanks.

does it come with the sender? if so you can either tap into the waterbox on the back of the engine on the cylinder head or the radiator hose going to the top of the radiator.

Ok I got the hook up for the radiator hose. It's the top hose right?

You're better off with the top hose, thats the coolant coming out of the motor into the radiator, if you mount it to the bottom, you'll just be reading how hot the water going into the motor is (should be a good bit cooler). Either way, with the hose method, you're gauge wont read anything until the thermostat opens up, so you'd be screwed if the thermostat sticks closed and the motor gets too hot.
