hello all! i just got my mazda 5 sport a few days ago and love it!! anyways im looking to do a couple things if someone could help me out.

1) i want to take out the 6 disc changer and all that nonsense that goes along with it and put in a bluetooth cd player (which i already bought just waiting to get it )
1a) is the screen that shows only the time and raido stations attatched to the disc changer it self?
2) if yes to 1a is it possible to remove the screen and find a kit to make that area used as a pocket storage thinggy? no sense have having 2 clocks if thats the case. (one on cd player one on the green screen)
3) im looking for a kit to cover up all the factory cd buttons and what not but able to fit http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500CDE133B/Alpine-CDE-133BT.html in the kit. so basically the kit only has room for the cd player and the 3 dials that control the air flow and temp.

4)is this making sense at all? sorry maybe ill upload some pics with descriptions of what i want.

Good luck...

The 6-cd-changer is useless for me. I use the line-in jack for my Sirius XM radio. I hate the factory radio, but it works with the steering wheel. I wonder if your new one will be able to have such a setup. Good luck. Maybe somebody should install it for ya?

meh idk. ill have to get some pictures up to maybe explain what i want a bit better. should be up tommorow some time

1. Yes, you can add any radio/player of choice. You will need a mounting kit.
1a. Yes, think of it this way, how else can it display info relevant to the CD changer?
2. No, there is no cubby/pocket to replace that clock display screen.
3. If you are buying the HU from crutchfield.com, the purchase should include the mounting kit (see 1) http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120997509/Mazda-5-In-dash-Receiver-Kit.html?tp=3121. The mounting kit leaves a double DIN opening and the player you are looking at is most likely a single DIN size. The mounting kit should come with a cubby/pocket to cover the additional opening.
4. Make sense. Really not complicated but you are prob not familiar with the lingo.
5. There are no premade cubby/pocket for the areas circled RED or GREEN.

Not sure if the pic you posted is your actual unit of if you used something from the web but it looks like you have auto climate control so you NEED to keep the clock display screen (how else will you be able to see air vent and temp settings?). Some 06-07 does not have auto climate control and the display is only for clock and factory stereo info; in this case I agree it is a redundant screen if your aftermarket radio also have a clock as it can not display aftermarket radio info.
