I hooked my boost gauge up today its reading only 3psi not even close to 5. Is there a problem we checked all connection the line is not bent and the T fitting is in good. The only question is I have the Joe P FP kit installed on another vac hose will that lessen the boost. Also is the plastic line suppose to be inside the T fitting i have the rubber gromet over the line witch is on the T fitting. Please any ideas why i get 3PSi.

i get low readings on mine as well,
but that's because i have the FPR kit and boost gauge on the same line. I'm reading 4 and sometimes 5. It was steady 6 before the FPR kit.

The guys at the shop where i do my installs said that i will get lower readings with FPR kit no matter where i install it, but i believe Joe more, so i will relocate the gauge and see what happens :) .
On wendsday i will be relocating my boost gauge, i'll let u know how it goes.

Mine is on a different vacum line from the fp kit maybe i can dissconnct the fp kit and try the boost that way to see if its more than 3psi.

The FPR will not affect the boost PSI readings as long as the gauge is not on the same line!!! It has nothing to do with the boost :). You said you have the plastic line going into the tee with a grommet over it?? Any pics? Doesn't sound right at all.

I have tried everything tonite it wont read more than 3psi wont even get close to 5psi even at full throttle in second or 3rd. WTF!!!!! My buddy says put clamps on the ends of the T fittings so no air can escape from the hose on the T. I checked for vacum leaks didnt hear any hising sound or sucking sound. Now the dam light on the gauge dosent work i hooked it to the radio fuse under the dash it will not come on. HELP ME!!!!

just get rid of the boost guage and tell yourself the car is running 6 psi to begin with. :D no worries.

I wish i could help you out, but i don't have a boost guage nor do i know how to install one. tell us what is wrong when you figure it out. good luck

These cars come with an adjustable wastegate on them. It is entirely possible that it was just not adjusted properly at setup. It happens, I'm sure. I would try to compare the readings with another gauge to be sure first.

well I fixed it today. You will not belive it the plastic line from the gauge was bent right behind the gauge so i cut it off and re did the line took it for a spin and WOW 6psi on the nose holding there. THANKS for all the help guys. Will turn up the boost when i get my joe mbc soon and cai intake from injen

heheh

Yeah I had a kink in my line and thought,"Oh great my gauge is ******!" Then about 10 seconds later I saw the kink. DOH!

Ah the power of discovery.

yeah dude, as soon as i opened a package from Autometer i threw that plastic line in the trash...
went out and bought 6 ft of regular rubber line at Pep Boys for $3.50 - way better and wont break

I prefer the plastic for some reason.. Probably because it is easier to adapt to the gauge. Who knows.. just personal preference though. You do have to be very careful with it though- it likes to kink- especially if you are pulling it through the firewall and one lf the loops catches on the other side.

yeah,
hey Joe, what's another good line to connect the boost gauge to?
u know what i'm talking about, cause i'll be using that short one for your FPR kit.
any pics?

if you look at that one site that has the gauge install pics (don't have the link, but it is the one that has been going around), look at the 5th pic. You will see the clear line that he replaced "that short one" that you mentioned with. Off to the right of that, you will see another 3/16" line going to a yellowish checkvalve and a larger hose coming off the valve. Go to that 3/16" line.
