If my ECU didn't suck gas...

My car would fly!!!!!

I swear.. Tonight I filled her up with 101 octane and NOS racing octane booster- then took it out for a quick spin and just came back sad... I feel that ruber band effect just too much. It will boggg and then *sometimes* take off like crazy. I try to keep off full throttle because of the open loop deal. But regardless I can still feel the car pulling the gas away from where it needs to go.

I'm not sure if my FM device is working properly? I fixed it once the instructions changed, but it doesn't seem any of you other guys are still having the bog- rubber band issue.

I can't wait till microtech or the FM piggyback.

Of course we all are why do you think fm is working on the piggyback? I've had this problem ever since the 2nd day after I installed the O2 mod.

Under WOT the ecu is runing open loop and not pulling out fuel thus the car is running very rich and very safe. Its partial throttle where the ecu wants to pull out fuel so. Are you getting this rubber band effect at partial throttle?

Sorry Port- I didn't know you were seeing the rubberband shizzy as well.

Terry- It basically is the same at partial and WOT.... There isn't much difference. The rubberband feeling seems to happen mainly at partial throttle, and at full throttle it is just boggy. I'm already running rich as it is, so I usually don't floor it.

Of course through all of first and some of second- flooring it is basically a nice way to spin tires and burn clutch. You know my setup pretty well. Would you suggest I try and stay off partial throttle when running at my higher boost levels?

you may be runnign too rich and overloading the motor. The protege ECU will fight the FMU till 4500 rpm when it goes to open loop. Then the FMU kicks in and if you've turned up that adjustable FMU that comes with the FM kit then you may be too rich......get it on a wideband and find out what you are really running.
