IC Pipe Crack

Just got my car back from the dealer and it had a bad intercooler hose. Thats what causeed the CEL to come on and the whistling/schreeching noise. The turbo seems a lot quieter so I'm thinking that the hose came bad from the factory which made the turbo sound louder. I'm also painting my calipers and engine cover yellow:D, can't wait, its gonna look so nice.

Yeah, my I/C pipe is currently broken until tomorrow. It WILl stall when it's broken if you do not seal it someway until it can be repaired. I'd suggest epoxy found at automotive stores.. I tried to duct tape it at first, but the heat made the glue melt and it would not hold at all.. The epoxy is still on and it's fine. I have picked up a whining noise at idle now, so I'm hoping the new pipe will fix that.

all these noises are scaring me into paranoia. I'm not sure if the noises I here are normal anymore or not.

My turbo has that noice whoosh sound at lower rps, and at 4500 rpms it does have a louder whistle or whine to it (hard to explain) Is that normal?

Driving around with the IC pipe cracked, would this cause any long term damage if not taken care of asap?

Since my car doesn't stall when I cover the intake, this could be a place I could check for leaks as well right? Was the crack something you could easily see with your eyes?

I'm asking s*** loads of q's because i want to be prepared when I take to the dealer this week.

Stdjyhan99-When my pipe was cracked it would stall in neutral and it doesnt do it anymore since i got it back.

newf-The whistling sound you're hearing above 4500 rpms is normal, but if you hear a whistle at low rpms your pipe might be cracked, mine also would whistle when I went over bumps.

lol u need a new avatar yellowspped

yall should check out the hard pipe setup if yall are replacing already

03.5 msp and the ic pipe is already cracked? plus people talking about leaks and other problems? im glad i got my p5 and didnt wait for the dealers to get the msps in

Stdjyhan99-I didn't cover the intake when the pipe was cracked and I haven't done it since I got it back. When I go out later I'll do it and let u know what happens.

with all due respect to MSP owners, i would never think about EVER buying a MSP...i would go back to my pontiac sunfire before i stooped that low...thank god the dealership didnt have them in stock yet when i bought my car, or they might have talked me into getting one of those dreadful machines

It's really a nice car.. I'm still proud to own it, despite my list of issues. All of the things are minor and I'm an extremely picky person, so maybe these things are just stupid things normal people wouldn't notice... I dunno.
