How to-time serts big serts kit stripped threads

This is what I used after two failed attempts with hilicoil inserts.

Things to remember
1-why is the bolt stripped
2-check the mani for warp and fix
no point in doing this if you dont fix your problem

The Problem

The solution

this kit is the big sert kit which is for thoughs who have truly jacked the threads and standard tapping and coil do not work.
this kit comes with 5 inserts /drill bit/step drill bit/ special insert tool/ and special tap.
Read the instructions!!!
I bought a close quarters drill from harbor freight and had plenty of clearence from radiator to monuver bit and line up.
Also a tap holder will be needed
first you must drill hole out

remember to drill deep enough measure!!!!!!
then use the small step drill notice step

then tap

then use some oil on there special insert kit and start coiling insert in. At about half way in you will feel the insert get tight. keep turning it, It will get easy again all you are doing is making the claws push out and grab the aluminum these bastard grab hard!!!Dont mess up supper hard to pull out, you will need a very good easy out to pull these bastards out.
this is the finished product.

If you notice the second pic the insert looks shaved Thats why i said MAKE SURE TO DRILL DEEP ENOUGH AND MAKE THAT STEP DEEP ENOUGH!!!
came out clean Though!!!
