ack! I shouldn't have read this. I have it recorded, but haven't been able to watch it yet! and probably not tomorrow either, it's my daughters birthday.
"...one of the crewmembers forgot to put the hood pins in..." Yeah, that crewmember was the idiot behind the wheel. I was looking over the engine between stages and checking the suspension along side the road. I got back in and forgot to latch it.
In the program, they said we rolled later on that stage (SS3). That is incorrect. We finished all 16 miles with the hood up and had no real issues and didn't lose too much time. We got high-centered at the start of the next stage (SS4) and lost a ton of time. That is when we started driving 100+% and I rolled it on the next one (SS5).
Hey, can you recommend any rally schools besides team o'neil? They don't offer it in early march which is when I'll be doing some sort of driving school. thanks! Oh yeah, and are there any exercises I can do to learn LFBing without dirt? Wanna practice it for autox but have no idea how to. Thanks!
Question, I dont get to watch much rally,(dont have speedtv), but who is the team you drive for? Does mazda sponser you or how do you get most of your money? And do you take dontations?
I am the principal and driver for Burmeister Rallysport, the home of MAZDASPEED Rally Team USA. We are a factory support team, meaning we get generous help from Mazda, but its not like a full ride factory type thing. The rest of the funding comes from my automotive design and rally parts business.
As far as donations go, stay tuned! I am trying to get a fan club type thing going that will allow you to make donations to the team in return for goodies!
Thanks. Hey Conekiller, there are other rally schools, too. ERS (European Rally School) is in Florida. Operated by Ivor Wigham. I think they are working on a new location at VIR (Virginia Intn'l Raceway). Tim's is just one of the most well respected and its a great atmosphere for learning and makes a nice vacation too.
Hey Lurch. Would you be interested in going back to Gingerman for a snowcross on Sunday March 7th? Its a different group hosting it than the last one. We shooting for 2 practice runs with 6 timed runs at $45. I'll post more details later. -Erik
