so i went ahead and ripped my doors apart and started to look into how to mount the speakers, then i realized the rain gaurd... do'h... figure i can just fabricate something at work, and dind't feel like spending such a kick ass day inside at work so i went ahead and started the sound deadening... i used the tsunami brand (butyl not asphalt) the guy told me just use your hands no tooling requried... in my infinite wisdom i believed him and my fingers are cut to s***... i am not sure what cut them but my hands are a mangled mess, there was blood everywhere i wasn't even able to work on the set up after i did the front two doors.... looks like i got into a fight with cat or something... and no it wasn't the stamped steel b/c i laid the deadening over it?? anyways the saga continues.... what do you recomend for splitting the power from source to two amps?

I take it the sound deadening was aluminum backed? Thats how you cut yourself, that s**** like razors.

You can use a power distrobution block as pointed out. www.cardomain.com has a great selections of them. Knuconceptz might have some too.

What are you splitting it between?

Here is how I mount mine. I didn't want to give up two seatbacks because I often put bulky stuff in the trunk, snowboards, etc. So I mounted two of the amps on the right seat back and a separate small one under driver's seat. Works out great.

I wanted to go with Alpine V12 series but they were a little too big... :(
Even now the distro block has to sit right next to the amp, don't really like it but what ya gonna do. :D
Ah, those amp will fit under the seats, I did it :D
The V-12 series M300 and the small 4 channel will if you remove the shrouds but thats it.

my two amps... jle4300 and either a jl250 or an e1400d.... they are about the same price..(40$ apart new) and at a 4ohm load i will be getting slightly more power from the 1400d but the 250 has a better heat sink... i will probably wait and see how cheap i can get them used but i am pretty sold on either of those two.... i plan on coming into the box with 4g and having two 8g leads from it... as far as what i have read on here that should be fine....

Yeah that will be fine. You can even find a (1) 4 gauge in, (4) 8 gauge outs at radio shack

under the other seat or mybe onder teh rear seat if there's room.

Under passenger seat I have the hide-away unit of my Pioneer DEQ. Under driver's is an Alpine 2 channel, therefore I had to put the other two amps behind the backseat...and something to show off. :D

You could move the distro block somewhere near where the seatbelt bolts, down by the front seats. Or something like that :) Then run slightly longer 8awg wires.

I could...but then I had to drill new holds to mount it. I am just eerie drilling holes on the floor (visions of oil spewing, "it burns, it burns!") (burn)

The best thing to do is drill holes for a board to mount to, under the carpet, then just mount stuff to the board. This way as you change the set up, you aren't drilling any new holes in the car.
