Holy s***! Red Line transmission fluid is 15.99$ for one lt. I need three of these holy s*** that's expensive! - Sorry feel better.

yeah, expensive stuff, but it lasts a loooooong time before having to replace again!

hmm, i remember it being expensive, but not that bad. I thought it was closer to 8-9 pert qt.

Yeah its cheapier in the states cause of the currency, 10$-12$ is like 15$-16$ here in Canada eh! Ah well if that is what everybody is using on here with good results it must be worth the extra few dollars a litre? And makes the shifting slightly smoother and/or better? I guess we will have to see, anybody know how much a shop would charge$ to do this - drain and fill?

That sucks. I paid 8 bucks a bottle for it two years ago. Speaking of which, it's time to replace the fluid again.

You can do it yourself easy man. Just get a funnel with a looong hose on the end. Let the car warm a bit to help it drain because this s*** is THICK! There is one plug at the bottom of the tranny to drain (23mm IIRC), and one at the top to fill. It is really straightforward, and pretty sure you don't even have to jack up the car to get it done. The long hose is needed to snake down from the top of your engine bay into the fill plug. Just fill until it overflows at the fill plug and then cap it.

Hmm, might have to give that a whirl? Don't have to jack it up? Thought I read on a thread that you had to - although it does make the car unlevel. I might have to get a skinny friend to get under there for me, its hard for me 6'4 280lbs. Worth a try though, thanx for the help!

A shop will most likely charge $100 CAD for a flush and fill.

What if you jack up the car to drain and lower it to fill? I just can't imagine getting to the drain plug without the car jacked up.

Wow!

100$ holy s***! I didn't think it would be nearlly that much! If it is, I'm definately doing it myself, 23mm I think I heard/read. 100$ is a little extreme I think!

super easy.

i just squirted the stuff in straight from the bottle (i used royal purple though, i think the bottle makes it easier)

I wouldn't trust Jiffy Lube at all, but that's me. I'm pretty sure JB Transmission here has flush and fill advertised for $99. But then again, I'm one that would do this myself.

I honestly don't remember if jacking was necessary, so don't quote me on that. It just seems like I remember the plugs being very accessable.

Picked up some Royal Purple synthetic 75w-90, they only hade two MT-90 bottles of Red Line left, I need 3! Ah well this stuff is up to par my buddy told me! Who knows?

....think i paid 6.XX for the good amsoil tranny fluid using astral's discount. feels the same as dino stuff but will last for wekk over 100K......

Royal purple is a very repectable brand, and many people swear by it. It should do your car some good.

Well the ol' Royal is in there! Shifting is much better now, actually felt a difference. A little smoother and finds the gears a little better! Thanx guys!
