Just noticed that when the car is running and I turn the AC on, there's a noticable "hiss" noise. Seems like something is leaking, or at least that's what it sounds like. When I turn the AC off, the hiss stops. Is this normal for a Protege?
might sound stupid but check to see if any of your vents on the dash are closed. i notice an odd sound from my A/C a few months ago... turns out my girlfriend somehow closed my passenger air vent 8/10ths of the way and never opened it. opened it back up and sound was gone.
It's coming from under the hood on the outside of the car, not in the cabin. I couldn't pinpoint an exact location, as I was in a parking lot somewhere...
