Hi, and a couple questions

Hello all,

I'm a very recent new owner (as of yesterday) of a slightly used (7888 mi) silver GT. I'm sure you can all remember your first few days with the car so I won't gush - let's just say I woke up today and my first thought was driving it!

Still finding my way around here, but I do have a couple questions that I don't think I saw while looking through the threads:

1. I'm aware of the clutch TSB, and I have Type A and will definately be getting it done - if nothing else so that I can at least valet the thing. Is there a list of other recommended/verified TSB's that I can look through and bring in to my dealer?

2. As I do with all my cars, I plan on keeping this baby for a long time. But I can't help but wonder if cat-back and a couple other tweaks might really open it up. What is the safest way, from a longevity perspective, to get to the magical 300hp?

Thanks all!

welcome to the boards :)

basically the tsb's are if its broken, here how they fix it. therefore, most of them are break/fix unlike the clutch one.

opening up breathing is a huge help for this car. the safest way to get more hp is to add an intake and full exhaust (downpipe/testpipe/catback). if thats not enough you will need to look into options for engine management and/or upping the boost.

okay I'm sure I'm going to feel like an idiot when you tell me, but what is TSB?

technical service bulletin. basically they are notifications sent out by Mazda advising technicians on how to fix a known problem.
