Help please with glove box light

My glove box light doesn't work. I tried replacing the bulb with several new ones so I know that's not the problem. Does anyone think that the problem could be something simple like a blown fuse or something that I can check before I have to make an appointment to go see the dealer? Thanks in advance.

Check fuses. Fuse box is at lower left side of dash in drivers footwell covered by plastic trim piece. See owners manual for schematic of which one does glove box light...

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll check the manual when I get out of work... hopefully a blown fuse is all it is.

edit: hmm... I just checked the manual and the glove box light doesn't appear to be designated to any one particular fuse. Actually that light isn't mentioned in the schematic. I'm guessing it must run off the same fuse as maybe the dome lights, but all the other lights in the car work fine. I'm probably going to have to take it to the dealer after all.

Was worth a shot. It would have been the easiest/fastest fix. I'd wait till the next service visit n do it then. No need wasting time at dealer if not urgent.

maybe you tried this but the glove box light only works when the headlights are on...

Glovebox

Hi,

Have you got a continuity tester (multimeter); take old bulb and check if it is blown (as new bulb doesn't work it may not be) also check all fuses (be careful as you may need to re-enter radio codes if stereo loses power)

Start up car and while running check all Lights on car (you may need a buddy to assist you) are there any other lights not working ( it may be an earth fault - have you made any modifications electrically prior to this problem)

You may just have a faulty (sticky) glovebox door switch, but where this is?? if you dismantle the glove box door will you be able to get it back in as neatly as it fits now; you might be better off waiting for your next service and asking the mechanic to look at it then!
