I just got a 3'' CPE single cutback exhaust but the guy who had it before me had it on a 3'' CPE downpipe so now I don't think I can bolt it up to my stock cat because of the size difference. What do I do help me please...

your options:
- purchase 3" cpe (any brand) downpipe or custom with test pipe?
- get custom flange welded
- sell 3" cpe catback

i say if you want to avoid a bunch of hassle, sell it. if not than do one of the things alca0811 says, or batou079

Wait...the exhaust should bolt to the cat or midpipe, not the downpipe. Unless cpe has a downpipe/testpipe combo??
Couldn't you just use a 3" testpipe in place if the cat and be good to go?
Otherwise, wouldn't a donut gasket suffice in filling the void from the 3" to 2.5" piping?

edit:
ms6acy its a catback exhaust which sounds like it attaches to the stock cat...if you look at the bottom of the webpage there is an option for selecting the size of the downpipe...its most likely due to them supplying you with the right gasket...cp-e 's downpipe replaces the second cat...if anything i would call cp-e back and order a new gasket from them for a piece of mind...nothing against anyone else telling you to upgrade your downpipe since its one of the biggest horsepower improvements for our cars ... its just sometimes its just not something people can swing right now due to finances. goodluck with the install if you haven't done it already and enjoy the new sound

you'll be fine. i bolted my corksport exhaust up to the stock mid-pipe and downpipe and had no problems, the corksport exhaust is like 3.15"
