If you can afford both, get the damn dodge. Who cares tune them both. It would only make sense for you to have one being a DSM guy. Its just the next evolution of turboed crysler cars.
Tune-em both be happy.
Oh and the damn neon will throw a light every 500 miles STOCK !(nuts)

It would have to be one or the other.. I can afford both, but I had a little credit "hiccup" last year and there is no way I can get 2 car loans anymore :(..

The Neon would just be a "dammit, I want to go fast but can't get financed for an Evo yet" thing :).. I would really rather have an Evo than any of them. This stinks- looks, handling, blah, blah blah- I LOVE the MSP- ECU and tuning- I hate it.. Just when I think I get every little thing dialed out of it- wham- something happens and I feel like I am back at square one. If I could just leave it how it is and be happy with it, it would be fine- but I want to keep going :).

PS-What's this about the CEL on a Neon???

Last time I checked inon the SRT boards EVERYONE was getting constant codes. 1st they had issues with a intercooler hose loosenging and throwing a code. Apparently even a slight overboost and the thing throws a code. Check out the sites and see if that still happening.

I'd stay with the MSp for the simple reason the dodge has totaly factory support from dodge and a bejesus of parts on the horizon many which will keep the warrenty from the factory.
The Mits already has every part in the world for it and has been in Japan for years so the competition is STOCKED.

Stay with the protege. As frustrated as you are image how folks like myself feel. We know enough to know the car sucks to tune but can't do dick about it.
NOt to mention there isn;t alot of competition in these cars yet all though it is heating up.

Those are the EXACT reasons I bought the MSP in the first place. I just never tuned a car that fights you the WHOLE way before. Hell, it isn't even right when it leaves the factory :). Then, once I do get all the bugs out of it- I have to constantly wonder if the motor is as weak as others are saying or if they just did something "wrong" and the different ECU's with different timing is part of the problem. (dunno)

The MP3's advanced timing even over the regular protege is definitly a bad thing and a contributing factor to engine melt downs. I was actualy talking to a guiy yesturedaty that mentioned the roads might not be the problem. It could be the rod bolts and they are allowing to much flexxing and cuasing the rods to weaken substantialy over time.
Rods seem to LOVE to kill themselves even with people running 8 PSI in the P5s
If the MSP has slightly retarded timing then I assume thats a benifit.

In the quest for power I guess we eventualy have to say, screw the computer and deal with a check engine light so long as we know things are running well. thats why I bought the wide band before ripping off the cats.
