head studs neep helppp!!!

I have a protege 1.6l 2000. Did a trans swap had motor rebuilt oversized pistons new rods an.I cannot find head studs that will work the machine shop gave me miata studs but they were too long. These are all I need to get.the.car.running again please help
 
Mazda will only have oem parts they are like retarded when you ask them for something. Some people say studs for a toyata will work Hung I don't have a clue
 
You should just use the regular oem studs right?

Have you tried arp?

If everything else fails go to a machine shop, and have them make them to your needs. It might be 10-30 a piece that way though
 
if you need them now go to a mazda dealer or machine shop. if not go to rockauto or get arp studs
 
Arp doesn't make them for a protege 1.6. I just had.the motor redone and the machine shop got me miata studs which are way to long and the oem aren't studs they are bolts
 
Actually you have to get them from Mazda if they're the same same as the fsde they're a torque yield bolt or something like that, it's something weird that Mazda did

Machine shop is calling arp Monday an getting the right ones will post pics of setup an dunk sheet when I'm done car with automatic trans and 10psi on stock block made 160 to the wheels so hopefully with the built motor and manual trans an 20 plus psi I can't put down some good numbers
 
Yeah, until the transmission pukes its brains onto the pavement...
 
Sorry man, not trying to sound like a dick...but this would make me very hesitant about your particular machine shop. As mentioned, measure the block depth you need (to find bottom thread stud length), measure the head clearance...and find the pitch of the stock bolts. ARP makes bolts and studs in nearly infinite different sizes, and with a proper supplier database they should've found this information in minutes. Even if they for whatever reason couldn't find the right size, they could've tapped the block for OS studs to begin with.

just saying, this is like engine shop 101...
