DaveB Rings? Did you just get them? I contacted him, but then he posted that he was busy .. don't want to keep bothering him about it if he's still real busy .
But it is controlable by lowering the brightness of the dash lights for those who might be bother by it. I'll take video of it tonight going through the whole range of brightness.
i also have the non-polished rings installed and love them.. to me, it makes it look like 3 autometer gauges mounted in my dash.. the polished rings (chrome look) remind me of a pontiac vibe / toyota matrix dash..
Some people resorted to glueing theirs but I think that is extreme. I just put a small piece of paper in between the ring and gauge for the middle one. Works fine, and only came off cause I hit the monster of potholes. The dang thing actually slowed the foward motion of the car down, lucky it didn't bend the rim.
my rings still popout even after putting double side tape ALL AROUND the inside of the middle ring, but in this picture it is only 1.5mm out and i think it stoped moving (i forced some more tape in lol) you can't really notice it so i am happy with it now
my middle ring started to pop out on the top, but the bottom is still snapped on strong.. it's a matter of time before it completely falls off.. but no worries, i'm going to take it back out and fix it tonight when i get home from work.. i'll snap it back into place and see if it holds any better.. if it starts falling again, i'll resort to some double-sided tape or some type of adhesive..
i just got mine and according to what Dave tells me, it's a newer design that should snap into place tighter and hopefully not need any kind of adhesive to keep it in place.. i'm wondering if i just didn't snap it down tight enough when i initially installed it.
