grinding noise when braking?

this has only happened to me like twice but i noticed that it happened when i was making a right turn and braking at the same time. the first time it happened i turned into a sloped parking lot (with a very little dip) and as i was turning and braking at the same time i heard a grinding sound and i also felt it off the brake pedal.
the second time it happened was when i was making a quick turn and was still braking around the turn and felt it briefly.
i've spoken to a friend of mine that drives an IS300 and he said that he sometimes gets the same thing but i just wanna know if anyone else has had the problem or knows why it happens. i dont want to have to drive down to mazda again. they already know me by my face cuz i've been there so many times... ;p

Mine too! I'm getting all the good stuff. Mine just started doing it a few days ago. I thought I glazed the pads and was hoping it's go away. It does it bad if you are going slow and just barely apply the brakes.

Hmm

I've noticed that my ABS seems to be a bit hyper-sensitive.
When I yell at it, it crys. No wait that's not it.
When I am going down the parking garage at work the ABS will come on fairly easily and it sound's well like crap but I know it's the A-b-anda S pumping its little heart out.

ahh, it now makes a little more sense.
so everything that is happening is natural, and i shouldn't be worrying?

I aint SKeered...

I was kind of suprised how easily the ABS kicks in at low speed on a incline/decline but it defintely does make a funny sound far different than my GM cars (yeck) with ABS.
There was another thread in here a few weeks back that sounded almost verbatim exactly like this one. I would'nt be too worried but examine the brakes and make sure there isn't any obvious signs of trouble. I did have a rock caught between the backing plate and the rear brake disk once. Man it sounded like the exhaust was dragging the ground! Only took a small amount of effort to dislodge the gravel and rid myself of the noise.

Peace out MA HOMEY...

Were you on an incline/decline or just travelling straight ahead on drive payment while appling light brake pressure?
If the ABS kicks on during slow foward movement under light pressure on a clean dry road then I might inquire about this with my service rep.
If it was on a wet or dirty road or on an incline/decline it
(at least to me) wouldn't be a cause for concern.

mine does the same thing too (even though it may not be the same noise that happen to you...) but it sounds horrible when I slow down by gears (rather than shifting to neutral and apply brake)

it happened when you slow down and shift to 2nd, release a little bit of clutch and apply brake at the same time....

I don't know if we are experiencing the same problem, I bring it to the dealer two times and what they said is I haven't glaze the pads whatsoever.....

then I constantly try to glaze out the pad and use the brakes more often than usual (I really don't need to brake that much, I usually slow down by gears instead). BUT THAT F&*%^ING NOISE IS STILL THERE!!!!!

DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW.....

Sounds to me like the normal ultra sensitive ABS kick in!
I hate it too!
Oh well ,just pull the ABS fuse and be done with it!
