going sat. to look at msp (WENT!!!!)

well here in south florida most dealers have at least 5 or 6 msp on dealer even has 3 spicy orange well im going to one of the dealership to see what the best price is that they will give me.

what would be the highest my first bid should be on a 2003.5 T. Grey???

i read around and see that some of you paid 18k out the door how did you do it??

went to another dealership tonight at ask what they have been selling for and he said msrp they cant go lower. they fed me all this crap about it being a special car and there only doing it once??

the dealer im going ot has about 10 of them so i think ill have a good shot at getting them to go lower so they can move them??

i dotn know tell me what you guys think i should do

msrp is a lie. tell him he wouldnt be having so many cars if he was selling them "for msrp and not lower"

there is a 1500 rebate on the car.

also tell him that you are willing to take one of the cars off his hands, if he cant go lower he is screwing himself over.

thats what i tolded him and he didnt want to hear about it so i said thats why theres so many there...

when i was leaving my g/f said just go to another dealer hsip someone has to go down in price

hopefully i get a good deal

well if this place that im going to on sat doesnt work out a sweet deal im gonna have to wait till about sept or so and save a little more money....

I agree -- with the dealers having so many MSPs on the lot in your area, you should be able to get a GREAT deal. Hold out until you get AT LEAST 1500 off of MSRP + the rebate -- trust me, they'll come around if they have that many MSPs just sitting there.

no doubt! it is a buyer's market.... don't waste your time with a salesperson, deal directly with the sales managers.

if they don't budge on the price then write down your name and number, tell them to call you when they want to sell a car, and mention you are on the way to the next dealership and then walk straight out the door without looking back.

bet you don't get out of the parking lot before they stop you.

i paid $18.7k in mid feb, after i had then pay half for my moonroof.

msrp (piss)!!!!!!!!!!
manufacturer's SUGGESTED retail price. not what you pay.

good luck

The guy tried to stop me like that "with a better deal" but I saw him and sped off. SUCKER.

I made him sweat it out till I called them back.

what a day.

i was gonna go to a couple of dearlers to find one that knew about the MSP i went to 4 total the first on i asked if i could test drive it they told me if i wasnt gonna but then i cant so i left the other 3 they didnt know crap and the last one wow what a difference they really wanna sell the MSp and they had i think 10.. i test drove it again and it only gets better after that we started crunching numbers i told him i had a trade in and i wanted my payments on the MSP to be no more then 300 he said ok....

i still owe 10,000 on my truck and with out seeing my 2003 ford ranger edge with 8600 miles they said that they would give me 12,500 for and my payments would be a little higher then 315 for 60 months i said thats no good the sales guy said ok and that he would be right back...

5 mins later he came back with a monthly payment of 295 once again i said thats not going to work
after that the sales manager came over and sid how low would i have to go for you to get the car today ... i said here the thing my mom is out of town and she needs to co sign for the loan
i then said she has the credit to get me 0 % apr ....

the manager said we dont do that with the speed so i told him that another dealer was and he said ok pretty sweet....
the manager then asked what i want my payments to be and i said no more then 280 he said ok done ... i told him i have to wait for my parents to get back which isnt for 8 days and then have to come in he said talk to them tonight and see what they said

here the thing im gonna get the car its my call my mom is just co signing ... when they call im gonna tell them that they pay off my trade and they get me at a monthly payment of 250 and its a deal

by the way im gettiign a 2003.5 T. Grey i think they have 5 on the lot and one is mine has soon as the parents get back from new york

how does that deal sound

paying off my truck
putting the rest on the down payment
zero % finance
and my payments at 250 a month (thats 30 more a month then im paying for my truck )

OK, so your total "out-of-pocket" expense is going to be 15,000. That sounds OK but it all depends on what your truck is actually worth. A 2003 Ford Ranger probably averages around 15,000 and you said you still owe a little over 10,000, meaning you probably paid off about 5,000 of it. Take that 5,000 you paid for your ranger and add it to your 15,000 you're going to owe for the MSP and it comes to 20k flat. Sounds like an average deal to me - decent but not great. Too be honest, we need to know more about your Ranger to tell just how good a deal you got.

I see your on the east coast I live in Naples and the dealer here has about 4 of them that I know of if you want to get another price. I bought mine about three months ago and paid 19500.00 and I agree with everyone else here that you can do better then that. $18000.00 would be great. Morane Mazda Naples Florida. I find the best thing to do is get the price of the car you want . Do not mention you have a trade in, Say 18000.00 for the Speed. Once you do that then see what they will give you for your trade in. Dealers are all the same they SUCK. they will play with one price and then the other so work the deals seperatly if you know what I mean.
