2006 MS6
Was heavily involved with the RX-8 board when I had one. Working with a MS6 now. About 92000 miles stock (all by me). I'm not too much into show... strictly performance. After I hit the 100k mark I hope to use your experiences to help me make the "right" modifications. I have had my fair share of cosmetic (have hit cars and deers) and mechanical damage (transmission) to this car so hopefully I will be a positive addition to the board.

Welcome, sir! I think you and I may be vying for the title of "Highest Mileage MS6". (thumb)

srry, weekend absence... but welcome to the site!!

Nice to see another MS6 join up!! Post up some pics of your ride and perhaps what modifications you've done thus far?
oh, and if you are predominantly performance modding... that mean you track? grip and/or drag...

Will do...I have done zero modification. I am 7k away from the 100k mark (where I assume I no longer carry a warranty). What would be your first recommendation for a driver who appreciates performance on the street (speed, performance and handling). I have very little interest in racing people or taking it to the track as it is my one and only car :)

Unless you have some kind of extended warranty, you're already out of pretty much every warranty period, maybe excepting the body corrosion period.

As for what to do, that depends on a lot of things...where you live, how much you want to spend, what is important to you. All of those, and more, contribute to the decision making process. Give us some ideas of what you're looking for and we can give you some specifics. Also, check this thread for some ideas on initial mods...these don't cover some things (like, say, much better tires), but it gives you an idea of what is available to start with.

Yes, got suckered into the intended warranty program....I did however have the tranny go @ 63k so that was covered... interestingly the mechanic stated the 6th gear was defective. Thanks for the link...I'll check it out and be sure to post a thread or follow-up with you should I have any questions.
