Getting boost spikes in 30degree weather

Kinda sounds like your clutch is out.......to test it get on the expressway in 5th gear and cruise at about 4000 rpm. Then punch the gas and if the rpm's go up really fast and u are not increasing speed your clutch is fried

Big Big Sigh of relief!!!!!! I took my car out tonight and did the tests. I did it about 5-6 times and not a single jump in revs.

It honestly only seems to happen in the morning ont he way to work when the car is it's coolest and it's also it's coldest outside. I have a feeling that if I spent 5 mintues to warm up the car before I left- it wouldn't happen.

Wow your car seems to be a bit laggy. You should be getting full boost(5psi) in 3rd gear at 2600-2700 rpm.

Actually I am at partial throttle when I do get close to full boost in second....I do keep my foot light due to my worry of boost spike...that is why I it is so slow to get to full boost. I guess what I stated earlier was wrong...what I was trying to say is...that 6psi isn't really instantaneous but rather pops up suddenly when I am WOT in third or fourth

I think I have finally joined the club of the boost spike. Either that or my clutch is going out faaaast  .

This morning I was going to work, it was 30 degrees out, and I punched it without really warming her up. The RPM's shot up like hot cakes as did the boost, but without any real gain in mph. I tried this in almost every gear... and it did it in almost every gear... Then around lunch time once it had reached the 50's I drove her around a bit more and warmed it up. Then it wasn't happening.

Is this a boost spike, or a fair warning that the clutch will shat on me?

Remember Corky Bell stating in the instructions not to hit boost within the 1st 5 minutes of driving? He said this will do funny things to a cold clutch. This same thing happens to me in the cold weather, with my ACT Clutch. What I do now is not hit boost until I have been driving for about 5 minutes, and all is well. I really wonder if this is the clutch though?
