FWD Speed6?

On my way home today I gave the car a bit more gas then needed(3500 RPMS) as I was taking off from a red light, with the DSC off of course, I heard a very loud bang from the rear, afterwards I was getting crazy torque steer and couldnt get traction, but my 4WD light didnt come on. Could it be the rear diff mounts? Will be getting the car serviced as soon as daylight breaks.

Broken diff mounts, broken rear left axle. $2000+ repair bill, waiting to see if it will be covered by my GM extended warranty.

Wow that sucks. Sorry to hear, hopefully it got covered? let us know.

do you stomp on the gas often, drive aggressively often?
Just curious, i have heard enough of these stories to consider upgrading my axles as a preemptive fix.

Just got a call this morning from the dealership, it will be covered(thank god). As for the aggressive driving, I dont really beat on the car, maybe launch it once every 2-3 months and the occasional civic beating. But other than that, I baby the car...

At stock or even elevated power levels I think it's more the mounts causing the axle breakage. The stock mounts allow some pretty severe movement. That forces the axle to try and drive the wheel at angles it wasn't really meant to.
