Forged Wheels...Are they really worth the price?

Hello all. In my never ending quest to find good quality rims for my Speed 6, (drive2) I have to ask are forged rims really worth the price of admission? I've seen some pretty good looking cast rims from RH and Enkei, but my heart (not my wallet) want the (somewhat F&F standard) Volks. (help)

For a street car...no. Forged wheels are ideal for race cars where saving every ounce of weight is critical. Yes, a forged wheel will generally be stronger than a cast wheel, but is that of much relevance on a street car?

speed bumps, potholes, crappy roads... it all depends on how low of a profile tire you go

I live in Jersey, where most of the roads are crap. I plan on getting 19s. Any suggestions? I've also had problems with rims before. I had konig Prophets, they were 17s. I hit one major pothole and they were ruined.
