WOW! She is BEAUTIFUL on those rims now! I bet they well a helluva lot less than the three spokes, eh?

VERY nice!! (thumb)

What brand are the wheels?

So what are you going to do with the clear lenses that are on the rear? Wanna sell them? Will they fit on the front side markers as well? I want some for the front of my car, but just haven't done it. :D
The front and rear are interchangeable.

Looking good.

I have a question for you though. Did you sand the plastic tube to make your shifter shorter? The reason I ask this is because I have the same momo knob, but due to the white plastic tube, it wouldn't really fit. I have asked many people and they told me to sand it down. However, I dont' want to, as I'm afraid that the orignal shift knob wouldn't fit after. So, I'm looking to buy another one, but I haven't found anything yet. So I was wondering if you sanded it down or you just got another one.

Thanks Diane. With the new wheels it's like a whole new world. I never realized just how heavy the old crappers were until I pulled one off the car. For the first day after I put the new wheels on it I felt like I was driving a different car. As you have said many times a Miata is the last car that should ever have heavy wheels.

The wheels are Rota Subzeros. In 16" they weigh right around 16 pds. So, they aren't the lightest wheels around, but definitely the lightest wheels in our budget.

As for the sidemarkers. Actually, they are sold for the front only on the 2nd. gens. The back ones mount at a slighter angle. So, the ones I have in back now have been modified a little to fit. Nothing drastic though. I just had grind down a little elevated circle of plastic on the back ofwhere the screw goes through the lens. So, all you would have to do is get a couple of rubber washers to replace what I had to sand away. You're welcome to em once the red ones get here. Probably today or tomorow. Say like $10 + shipping which shouldn't be more than a few bucks.

Oh, BTW I've got a few other badges and emblems for the Miata in my "Garage" Sale thread if anyone is interested.

Very nice The car looks NICE....you should put the mazdaspeed MX5 front lights they are blacked out
Funny you say that. We're actually planning to yank the headlights off and black them out (P5 style). I love the lights on the MSM, but I just dropped a ton on a pair CAD headlights for the Speed. So, since we're trying to keep the Miata on some sense of a budget, we're just gonna go with painting the bezel and pulling out the amber reflectors inside the turn signals.

Wish us luck, I have the feeling if I screw it up I'm gonna be buying us a pair of MSM lights. lol.

It's coming along nicely! don't forget to add the lip in the future. :)
Oh, don't worry. Once the damage I mentioned in the other thread is repaired the lip will be back on. By that point the car will probably be dropped too. So, the wife will be getting a training session on parking her before the lip goes back on. lol.

Well, I tried sanding it. :D However, I had to do a lot worse than that to get it to fit up. My advice, if you ever want to put your car back to stock, sell that knob and buy another. During the install, I came to a point where I knew I could never go back if I continued. If it hadn't been for the fact that I knew a friend who made it fit on his P5, I would have pussed out. lol.

FYI, I'm 98% certain that the MSM lights won't fit your car. The '99-'00 and '01+ headlights are different, and I think you can't swap them out. Just so you know to research more before buying something you can't use!

Hopefully, I won't have to find out if it would work or not. lol. I'm gonna enlist the help of someone who has actually painted there P5 lights before I even think of painting the Miatas.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Oh and Chris, just be happy with your silver knob and leave ours alone! lol.

Looks hot man! Very slick with those wheels, drop will set it off very very nicely, especially once you get the lip back on. I plan on purchasing a 00+ miata for my next little project :)
